Real Madrid will be hopeful that Vinicius Junior can shake off an injury concern in order to take to the field for Sunday evening's La Liga clash with Barcelona.
The 23-year-old was forced off against Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday evening after a sprint with English defender Kyle Walker.
However, muscular overload rather than a strain of any kind was believed to be the reason for his withdrawal in the second leg of the quarter-final, and the Brazilian should therefore be fit for El Clasico.
Vinicius has been in excellent form for Real Madrid this season, scoring 18 goals and registering 10 assists in 31 appearances in all competitions.
Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how the forward has performed against Barcelona ahead of the meeting between the two La Liga giants this weekend.
Vinicius has faced Barcelona on 16 occasions during his professional career, boasting a record of nine wins, one draw and six defeats against them, scoring six goals and registering three assists in the process.
Nine of those fixtures have taken place in La Liga, with Vinicius winning six times and losing three, but he has only managed one goal against the Catalan side in Spain's top flight.
The Brazilian has also tackled Barcelona on four occasions in the Copa del Rey, boasting a record of one win, one draw and two defeats, scoring once and registering two assists.
The majority of Vinicius's personal success against the Catalan side has come in the Spanish Super Cup, scoring four goals and registering one assist in three games versus them in the competition, recording two wins in the process, including a hat-trick in the 4-1 success for Real Madrid in the final earlier this year.
Vinicius will not look back too fondly on his first-ever La Liga game against Barcelona, as he played the full 90 minutes in a 1-0 loss for Real Madrid at Bernabeu in the second half of the 2018-19 campaign.
The Brazilian's only league goal against Barcelona came in a 2-0 success for Real Madrid in 2020, but he has helped Los Blancos win five of their seven league games with the Catalan side since then.
Vinicius played the full 90 minutes of a 2-1 win for Carlo Ancelotti's side in the reverse league match earlier this season, with Jude Bellingham netting a brace in that encounter.
The forward has been a part of two home La Liga losses for Real Madrid in El Clasico, though, including an incredible 4-0 defeat during the 2021-22 campaign.
