Juan Carlos Osorio: 'Mexico dealing with small flu-bug'

Mexico boss Juan Carlos Osorio says that a number of his players were affected by the flu ahead of Sunday's World Cup win over Germany.

Mexico boss Juan Carlos Osorio has revealed that his squad have been affected by a 'small flu-bug' over the past week.

On Sunday, Mexico produced one of the surprises of the World Cup so far as a goal from Hirving Lozano earned El Tri a 1-0 victory over Germany.

However, Mexico tired during the second half and Osorio has said that a number of his players have been feeling unwell in recent days.

Osorio told ESPN: "We'll give [the starters from Sunday] the chance to recover not just from the exertion of the game, but also from a small flu that has affected the group, from which almost all the players are now recovering.

"A number of the players were unwell and that's one of the reasons we took into consideration with the substitutions around the 60th minute."

Mexico are next in action when they face South Korea on Saturday.
