Report: Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw rejects Everton move

Everton have failed in their attempt to sign Luke Shaw from Manchester United and may instead turn to Barcelona's Lucas Digne, according to a report.

Out-of-favour Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has reportedly rejected the chance to kickstart his Premier League career with Everton.

The 23-year-old has been publicly criticised by boss Jose Mourinho over the past two years and was restricted to just eight top-flight starts last season.

Shaw has been made available for transfer this summer but, according to The Times, he is refusing to be forced out of Old Trafford as he would prefer to leave on a free in 12 months.

Mourinho is said to be on the lookout for new full-backs, particularly after helping to push through the sale of Daley Blind to Ajax, with that £18.5m deal on course to be made official in the coming days.

The same report claims that Everton have also missed out on Celtic's Kieran Tierney, while Barcelona's Lucas Digne is another possible target.
