Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is "very confident" that Harry Kane will remain with the North London club beyond the end of this summer's transfer window.

The 29-year-old was again in impressive form for Spurs last season, scoring 32 goals and registering five goals in 49 appearances in all competitions, including 30 goals and three assists in the Premier League.

Tottenham finished down in eighth position in the table, though, meaning that there will be no European football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.

Kane only has 12 months left to run on his contract in North London, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future in recent weeks.

Manchester United continue to be linked with the England captain, while Bayern Munich are believed to have made two offers for the centre-forward.

Bayern's latest offer for Kane is said to be around £80m, with the Munich giants hopeful of convincing him to make the move to Germany during this summer's transfer window.

However, Redknapp has said that the Englishman is 'certain' to remain at Spurs, with the 76-year-old "very confident" with his prediction.

"Kane is cert to stay at Tottenham. I think he is building a new house," Redknapp told BBC Sport. "Family would be the all-important thing for him, so there's no chance he's going to Bayern Munich.

"He's not going to want to go to Germany - he's not taking his family over there, not a chance. So if he stays here, unless you go to Manchester City, you're not guaranteed to win anything.

"You could go to Man Utd and not win anything. You can go to Chelsea or anywhere else you want to go. At the moment, City are winning everything.

"They're on a different level - but City don't need him. There's not a move for him really so I think he'll stay at Tottenham, I really do. I'm very confident about that."

Man United are believed to have identified Kane as their leading target for the summer window, but the Red Devils are not confident when it comes to their chances of signing him.

Tottenham maintain that Kane is not available this summer under any circumstances, but a sale to a foreign club is more likely than a move to a domestic rival.

Despite being regarded as one of the best strikers in world football, the England captain has not won a single piece of silverware at senior level, and Spurs will again find it difficult to challenge for major trophies next term.
