Napoli reportedly maintain an interest in signing Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian.

The Premier League giants are prepared to sell Darmian during the current transfer window, and the full-back is looking to return to Serie A.

Juventus had been the favourites to sign the 28-year-old, but according to the Daily Mail, it now appears that Napoli are ready to secure the signing of the player.

Last year's top-flight runners-up are said to prefer a loan deal, but the latest report indicates that a bid of £18m may be made in the coming days.

Darmian has played an active role for United during their pre-season tour of the United States due to injuries to Antonio Valencia and summer arrival Diogo Dalot.
