Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane is reportedly giving serious consideration to returning to the Premier League during this summer's transfer window, with Liverpool said to be his preferred destination.

The England captain represented Tottenham Hotspur between 2010 and 2023, scoring 280 times and registering 61 assists in 435 appearances, before making the move to Bayern in the summer of 2023.

Kane has been in terrific form for the Munich giants, managing 76 goals and 23 assists in 82 appearances, including 32 goals and 11 assists in 37 outings in all competitions during the 2024-25 campaign.

The 31-year-old has a contract with Bayern until June 2027, but there has recently been speculation surrounding his future.

Reports in Germany have claimed that there will be a £54m release clause in his contract next January, and Manchester United have recently been linked with the player who they attempted to sign from Tottenham two years ago.

Kane 'open to Premier League return'

According to Fichajes, Kane is interested in discussing a return to the Premier League, and he is keen to speak with Liverpool about a possible move to Anfield at the end of the season.

Kane is the second-highest goalscorer in the history of the Premier League with 213, with only Alan Shearer (260) finding the back of the net on more occasions in the competition.

In theory, a return to the Premier League next year would give Kane more than enough time to potentially break the record, and that is allegedly in the back of his mind despite being happy with life in Munich.

Kane faced criticism for some below-par performances for England at Euro 2024, but he remains one of the finest strikers in world football, and a return to English football next year is believed to be a real possibility.

Could Liverpool really move for Kane this summer?

Liverpool are preparing to overhaul their attack this summer, with Mohamed Salah out of contract at the end of June, and as it stands, the Egypt international will be leaving Anfield on a free transfer.

Darwin Nunez could also depart in a big-money transfer, while there is speculation surrounding the futures of Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota, so there will be incomings in the final third of the field this summer.

Bringing in Kane would go against Liverpool's transfer policy, but exceptions have been made in the past, and it would certainly not be a surprise to see the Reds make an attempt to sign the striker if the price is right. body check tags ::
