Juventus forward Paulo Dybala insists he never wanted Manchester United move

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala claims that he never had any interest in joining either Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur during the summer.

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala has dismissed suggestions that he was open to a move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window.

Having allegedly fallen out of favour after the arrival of new boss Maurizio Sarri, Dybala was heavily linked with both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, only to eventually remain in Turin.

However, despite the frequent speculation, the Argentina international has said that he always wanted to fight for his place at the Serie A champions.

The 25-year-old told Corriere della Sera: "It wasn't an easy summer. Hearing your name linked to every team and every place, where you don't want to go, isn't a nice thing. But this is football, even if before the transfer window opened I said: 'I want to stay here.'

"I think it was more important to let the pitch do the talking, even if until the last day no-one knew what would happen. I wanted to stay, I wanted to play here and continue my career at Juve.

"I think I can still give a lot and I showed a glimpse of that against Inter."

Dybala has contributed one goal and two assists from his seven outings in all competitions this season. body check tags ::
