Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot during this summer's transfer window, but the German giants could face competition from Real Madrid.
Dalot, 25, made the move to Old Trafford from Porto in 2018, and he has represented the Red Devils on 200 occasions, scoring seven goals and registering 13 assists in the process.
The Portugal international has again been a hugely important figure for Man United this term, scoring once and providing three assists in 43 appearances, and he has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2028, with the option of a further 12 months.
Man United are expected to bring in a new right-sided wing-back this summer, though, with Sporting Lisbon's Geovany Quenda believed to be the leading target for the club.
Patrick Dorgu joined in January from Lecce, meanwhile, and there is believed to be a scenario which leads to Man United listening to offers for Dalot during this summer's transfer window.
Bayern 'express an interest' in signing Dalot
According to TEAMtalk, Bayern are extremely keen on the Portuguese, with Vincent Kompany's side considering making a move for the full-back when the summer market opens for business.
The report claims that Real Madrid are also in the picture, with Los Blancos said to have a long-standing interest in the ex-Porto youngster.
Dalot's versatility and athletic ability is believed to have made him a leading target for Bayern, while it is unlikely that the Munich giants would have to break the bank to sign him during this summer's transfer window.
Man United have a strong relationship with Bayern at senior level, with the pair doing business during the recent summer transfer window - Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui both making the move to Old Trafford.
Should Man United let Dalot leave?
Should Man United miss out on Champions League football for next season, then Dalot may believe that the time has come for him to move on, while the Red Devils need to make some major sales due to their financial issues.
Dalot was Man United's Players' Player of the Year for the 2023-24 campaign, and he has again been consistent this term, but his lack of attacking threat has made him frustrating to watch at times.
Quenda could arrive to become the starter down the right for the 2025-26 campaign, while Dorgu has impressed down the left, so if a suitable offer arrives for Dalot this summer, then it could make sense for Man United to move him on.
Bayern are seemingly the favourites, with Real Madrid only expected to make a move if the capital giants are unsuccessful in their attempts to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool. body check tags ::
