How Manchester United could line up against Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United fans are sweating over the fitness of Bruno Fernandes ahead of Thursday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur in North London.

After coming off with a knock in extra time during Sunday's FA Cup semi-final win over Brighton & Hove Albion, Fernandes has been pictured at home with crutches and a protective boot around his foot.

Erik ten Hag revealed in his pre-game press conference that Fernandes is doubtful, while Donny van de Beek (knee), Alejandro Garnacho (ankle), Tom Heaton (ankle), Phil Jones (knee), Lisandro Martinez (foot), Raphael Varane (ankle) and Scott McTominay (knock) will all miss the trip to the capital.

On a brighter note, Harry Maguire is back from an FA Cup ban to ease Man United's defensive crisis, but Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw formed an effective partnership in front of David de Gea at Wembley.

However, the need for fresh legs after a gruelling 120 minutes should lead to a recall for Maguire, potentially forcing Shaw to the left-back role as Diogo Dalot drops out - Aaron Wan-Bissaka marshalled Kaoru Mitoma effectively on Sunday and should not lose his place.

While it remains to be seen if Fernandes will be given the green light, the signs are not promising for the Portuguese, so Marcel Sabitzer should step in alongside Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.

Jadon Sancho and Wout Weghorst could both offer something different in the final third, but Marcus Rashford, Antony and Anthony Martial - the latter two of whom came off before extra time on Sunday - will expect to hold their spots here.

Manchester United possible starting lineup: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Eriksen, Casemiro, Sabitzer; Antony, Martial, Rashford
