Newcastle United have reportedly received a quadruple injury boost ahead of Sunday's Premier League home meeting with Manchester United.

The Magpies, who occupy fifth position in the Premier League table, are firmly in the hunt for Champions League football with two points separating them from fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played two games more.

After losing 2-0 to Man United in last month's EFL Cup final, Newcastle will be looking for revenge when they face the Red Devils on Sunday.

Newcastle are three points adrift of third-placed Man United, and they would move above their opponents on goal difference if they can claim a victory at St James' Park.

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle have been handed a quadruple injury boost ahead of Sunday's crucial Premier League encounter.

Nick Pope, Sven Botman, Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson have all returned to training and are set to be involved in the matchday squad.

Pope has kept 12 clean sheets in 26 Premier League appearances this season, but there were doubts over his fitness after he pulled out of the England squad.

After receiving his first call-up to the Netherlands squad, Botman was forced to return to Newcastle with illness during the international break.

Saint-Maximin looked to have picked up a hamstring injury in Newcastle's 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest, but he appears to have shaken off any issue.

Callum Wilson, who has lost his place to Alexander Isak in the last two games, was absent from some training sessions over the international break.

However, like Pope, Botman and Saint-Maximin, the 31-year-old will be available for Sunday's Premier League contest.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe still has to contend with a couple of injury absentees, with Anthony Gordon and Miguel Almiron sidelined with ankle and thigh problems respectively.

Having failed to beat Man United in their last seven competitive meetings, Newcastle will be looking to claim their first win over the Red Devils since a 1-0 victory in October 2019. body check tags ::
