Jose Mourinho confirms when Luke Shaw will return

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho confirms that Luke Shaw will start Wednesday's Champions League clash with Young Boys.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Luke Shaw will return to the team for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Swiss outfit Young Boys.

Shaw impressed in United's first four matches of the 2018-19 Premier League campaign, but was forced to miss Saturday's 2-1 win at Watford with the head injury that he suffered on international duty with England.

There was a concern that the 23-year-old could face another extended spell on the sidelines, but Mourinho has revealed that the full-back will be in the XI for the club's European opener.

"Luke Shaw plays Wednesday," Mourinho told reporters. "We can't do it with one left-back and Ashley Young is not just a left-back, he is also a right-back.

"They are both doing well, they are both different players and I think they both understand that one is a young player and the other is the experienced one and it is good for us to have these two options."

United have been drawn into Group H of this season's Champions League alongside Juventus, Valencia and Young Boys.
