Romelu Lukaku has "no doubt" Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will stay on

:Headline: Romelu Lukaku has 'no doubt' Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will stay on:
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now guaranteed to be named as Manchester United's new permanent manager, according to striker Romelu Lukaku.

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has insisted that "there is no doubt" Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be appointed the club's new permanent manager.

Calls for the Norwegian to be given the job have grown on the back on Wednesday's historic 3-1 win at Paris Saint-Germain that sent United through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League on away goals.

Solskjaer has also guided the Red Devils into the last eight of the FA Cup, where Wolverhampton Wanderers await, and into the top four of the Premier League.

The 46-year-old has now won 14 of his 17 matches at the helm, losing just one of those, and Lukaku has joined the likes of Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw in calling for the caretaker boss to be handed a long-term contract.

"I know he's going to stay, there's no doubt about that," he told Viasport. "He wants to stay, the players want him to stay. We're doing really well, we're playing like Manchester United should play.

"He's a young coach, he has young players as well so it's the perfect environment to develop and hopefully win trophies in the future."

To complicate matters slightly, Solskjaer is still contracted to Norwegian club Molde for another two years, as confirmed by their chief executive officer Oystein Neerland earlier this week. body check tags ::
