Real Madrid to rival Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund's Julian Weigl?

By , Senior Reporter | 5d
Real Madrid are reportedly ready to rival Manchester City in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl.

Real Madrid have reportedly identified Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl as a potential signing.

Head coach Zinedine Zidane will allegedly be provided with the funds to transform Real's squad over the summer, and the Spanish giants have been heavily linked with a number of attacking players.

However, Zidane also holds a desire to freshen things in the middle of the park, and according to reports in Spain, Weigl could be on the Frenchman's radar.

The 23-year-old has established himself as an important member of Dortmund's squad, but the German has just over two years remaining on his contract.

That could lead to interest from a number of clubs over the summer, with Manchester City also said to be admirers of the player.
