Liverpool place £35m asking price on Marko Grujic?

Liverpool reportedly slap a £35m price tag on the head of Marko Grujic, who has been linked with Atletico Madrid as a possible replacement for Manchester City-bound Rodri.

Liverpool have reportedly told Atletico Madrid that it will take a bid of €40m (£35m) to sign Marko Grujic on a permanent basis this summer.

Grujic joined Liverpool in 2016 but has made just 14 first-team appearances for the club, spending most of the past three years out on loan at the likes of Cardiff City and Hertha Berlin.

The 23-year-old has impressed during his season-long spell in the Bundesliga this term, but he is unlikely to stay in the German capital due to Hertha's failure to qualify for Europe next term.

ESPN reports that Atletico are interested in Grujic having identified him as a replacement for Rodri, who has been linked with a €70m (£60.5m) switch to Liverpool's Premier League title rivals Manchester City.

However, Liverpool will demand around £35m for the Serbia international, despite not viewing him as part of their first-team plans under Jurgen Klopp.

Grujic has made 19 Bundesliga appearances for Hertha this season, scoring four goals and creating another.
