Ajax 'place Frenkie de Jong value at £75m'

Ajax reportedly place a £75m value on in-demand midfielder Frenkie de Jong amid interest from Barcelona and Manchester City.

Ajax have reportedly placed a £75m value on in-demand midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

De Jong is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in European football, and a number of clubs have been credited with an interest in the Netherlands international.

Barcelona were strongly linked with a move during the summer transfer window, but Manchester City appear to have moved ahead in the race.

According to The Mirror, however, City will have to come up with a club-record £75m bid in order to convince Ajax to part ways with the 21-year-old.

De Jong, who has also previously been linked with Real Madrid, has scored twice in 19 appearances for Ajax during the 2018-19 campaign.

De Jong moved to Ajax from Willem II in 2015 and represented Jong Ajax before stepping into the first team.
