How Liverpool could line up against Wolverhampton Wanderers

Sports Mole looks at how unbeaten leaders Liverpool could line up for Friday night's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Liverpool will be looking to make it seven Premier League wins in a row and move temporarily four points clear at the top of the table when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Friday night.

Jurgen Klopp's side enjoyed a memorable week last week as victory over Napoli secured their place in the last 16 of the Champions League before a dominant 3-1 win over bitter rivals Manchester United on Sunday, which spelled the end for Jose Mourinho.

However, they take on a resurgent Wolves team that has won three games on the bounce themselves, and that has already avoided defeat against the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United this season.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up for the contest.

Out: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee), Joel Matip (shoulder), Joe Gomez (ankle)
Doubtful: Trent Alexander-Arnold (foot), James Milner (hamstring)

Liverpool's main injury concerns come in defence, where Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are sidelined until the New Year, while Friday's match is expected to come too soon for Trent Alexander-Arnold to return.

James Milner should have recovered from a slight hamstring strain, though, and he is likely to fill in as a makeshift right-back if so, despite Nathaniel Clyne's impressive performance during his first league appearance of the season last weekend.

Dejan Lovren also returned to the team for that match and is the only senior option to partner Virgil van Dijk in defence, but Klopp is spoilt for choice in the middle of the park with Fabinho among those to have shone against United.

The Brazilian seems to have done enough to earn another start, although Klopp must decide which formation to go with as Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum are also pushing for a place.

Xherdan Shaqiri came off the bench to score twice against United and so will be hopeful of being handed a recall for this one, alongside the usual front three of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
