Bacary Sagna to reject Leicester City for Italy transfer?

Former Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna is reportedly set to snub Leicester City in favour of a move to Italy.

Former Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna will reportedly reject Leicester City in favour of a move to Italy.

The full-back is currently a free agent after being released by City but is reportedly keen on a move to either of Milan's top clubs.

Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare admitted that his side were interested in securing the services of the 34-year-old, but the club now look set to miss out on the Frenchman, whose latest comments suggest that he is interested in a transfer to Serie A.

"I will definitely watch the Milan derby," Sagna told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Italian football has always fascinated me.

"These are the games you always want to play. I expect a high level and a draw. I'm ready. I follow Serie A, there are other big teams like Napoli, Roma Milan and Juventus. It's a competitive championship.

"To get back to the pitch I'm looking for an ambitious team. It's not a question of money."

Sagna joined the Citizens from Arsenal in 2014 before being released at the end of last season.
