Thiago Motta could reportedly return to Genoa after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired.

The 35-year-old scored 11 times in 201 appearances during a six-season spell at PSG, landing 15 domestic trophies during his time in the French capital.

The Italy international is now available on a free transfer after leaving the French giants, and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Genoa are considering a move for a player that previously represented the club during the 2008-09 season.

Motta joined Genoa off the back of a disappointing spell at Atletico Madrid, and scored six times in 27 appearances before earning a move to Inter Milan, where he won the treble under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho.

Genoa narrowly avoided relegation from Serie A last season, finishing the campaign down in 16th position in the table.
