Sir Bobby Charlton: 'Do everything you can to win World Cup'

England legend Sir Bobby Charlton issues a rallying cry to England's players ahead of their final two World Cup qualifying matches.

England legend Sir Bobby Charlton issued a rallying cry to England's players on Sunday, telling them that "winning the World Cup is the greatest thing you can achieve".

Charlton, who won the World Cup with the Three Lions in 1966, addressed the team before training at their St George's Park headquarters and said that he hopes to see England progress well into the competition next summer.

"Winning the World Cup is the greatest thing you can achieve," Charlton told the England camp. "It's all out there in front of you and you can do it. Do everything you can to try to win the World Cup.

"I hope that in this particular year, we get the opportunity to have another go at winning the World Cup.

"I know that the manager has the ability and I do hope that you can give me one of the greatest memories of my life."

England are preparing to host Slovakia at Wembley on Thursday night, where a win would see them book their place at next year's tournament.
