Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has hailed teammate Philippe Coutinho as the most talented player he has ever played with or against.

The 23-year-old came through the ranks with Bayern Munich and is a full international for Germany, but he selected Coutinho as the most gifted of anyone he has been on the same field as in his career.

Selecting his ultimate XI of players he has played with or against, the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Steven Gerrard were all included, but the German reserved special praise for Coutinho.

"I never saw a talented player like him, he has everything," he told the club's official website.

"On the ball he is just amazing. It is very difficult to play against him. He can score goals, he shoots very well. He can just do everything with the ball."

Both Can and Coutinho were linked with moves away from Liverpool during the recent transfer window.
