England Under-21s opened their 2017 European Under-21 Championship campaign with a goalless draw against Sweden Under-21s on Friday afternoon.
Both teams had opportunities to make the breakthrough at the Kielce City Stadion in Poland, but the best chance of the match came for Sweden 10 minutes from time when Ben Chilwell felled Linus Wahlqvist inside the penalty box.
Wahlqvist stepped up to take the spot kick, only to be denied by new Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as the spoils were shared.
