Real Madrid have reportedly offered Chelsea the opportunity to keep Mateo Kovacic at Stamford Bridge.

The Croatia international is currently nearing the end of a season-long loan deal, and a two-window transfer ban is due to prevent Chelsea from signing the midfielder on a permanent basis.

However, according to The Mirror, Real are happy to allow the Blues the chance to push through a second loan agreement before May 5.

The report claims that Kovacic will be allowed to spend another campaign with the West Londoners providing that they agree to sign the player for £26m in 2020.

Kovacic has made 32 starts and 12 substitute appearances in all competitions during the current campaign.
