Philippe Coutinho return to Liverpool 'is impossible'

:Headline: Philippe Coutinho return to Liverpool 'is impossible':
Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho will not be returning to Liverpool this summer, according to a report.

Liverpool have reportedly completely ruled out making a move for Philippe Coutinho as it will be "impossible" to agree a deal for the Barcelona playmaker.

Coutinho spent five seasons at Anfield prior to his January 2018 switch to Camp Nou, where he has had far less success.

The Brazil international struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in his only full season with Barca and has spent 2019-20 on loan with Bayern Munich.

Bayern do not intend to take up the option to sign Coutinho permanently this summer, though, and his agent has confirmed that a Premier League return is a strong possibility.

However, The Athletic's Simon Hughes claims that a return to Anfield is off the cards as Liverpool do not feel that it is possible to complete a transfer.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also rumoured to be in the running to sign Coutinho, who has eight goals and six assists in 22 Bundesliga appearances this season. body check tags ::
