Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel confirms that knee injuries sustained by N'Golo Kante and Ben Chilwell will both be assessed on Wednesday.

Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has described the knee injuries sustained by N'Golo Kante and Ben Chilwell as "very sad things".

On Tuesday evening, Chelsea stormed to a 4-0 victory over Juventus, booking their place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

However, both Kante and Chilwell needed to be withdrawn through knee injuries, the latter's appearing to be the more serious as he was helped off the pitch.

Speaking after the contest at Stamford Bridge, Tuchel acknowledged his disappointment after two of his key men picked up issues which could keep them on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

The German told BT Sport: "Ben has a sharp pain in the knee. N'Golo twisted his knee a little bit. They will both be examined tomorow.

"They are very sad things because N'Golo was very good before he went off and Chilly has been in a fantastic moment."

Chelsea, who will top their group with victory at Zenit St Petersburg in two weeks time, are next in action when they face Manchester United on Sunday. body check tags ::
