Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard has confirmed that Thiago Silva, N'Golo Kante and Mason Mount are fit for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

After losing 1-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers in his first game back as Chelsea boss, Lampard takes his side to the Santiago Bernabeu for the first leg of a difficult quarter-final tie.

The Blues have received a triple injury boost ahead of Wednesday's encounter, after Lampard confirmed that Silva, Kante and Mount will all be available.

"They are all fit," Lampard told reporters. "They are all in the squad. The three players you mentioned are good and are here."

Kante has missed the majority of the season through injury, and their are some doubts as to whether he can rediscover his best form following the long layoff, but Lampard has every confidence in the midfielder.

The Chelsea boss said: "N'Golo is a special player. I understand what you mean in terms of consistency and the problems N'Golo has had with injuries.

"But in terms of coming back and playing at a really high level, I have witnessed him do it. He did it for me in the Super Cup against Liverpool for me a few years ago.

"He passed a fitness test, hadn't trained in a long time and was the best player in the pitch for 120 minutes. I think he has the capacity to do it because he's a special player."

The Champions League represents Chelsea's only chance of claiming silverware this season and winning the competition is likely to be their only route into European competition next term with the club currently languishing in 11th place in the Premier League.

Due to their disappointing season, Lampard understands why his side will be underdogs against the reigning European champions, but he believes that Chelsea can use that tag as motivation.

"There is pressure on both teams because of the size of both clubs," Lampard added. "When you get to this stage, there's always going to be pressure. Are Real Madrid favourites? Yes and I understand why.

"That's the difficulty of our season. I don't think that is a problem. There is no better carrot in football than trying to prove people wrong and being the underdog and have a good result."

Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, is preparing to face his former club and he has reiterated his desire to remain as Real Madrid manager amid speculation over his future.

After facing off in Wednesday's first leg, the two sides will re-commence battle at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.
