Cameron Carter-Vickers signs new long-term Celtic contract

"I am really delighted to sign this new contract with Celtic. I have loved everything about the club from day one and I am so pleased to have been part of some real successful times across the last few years," he told the club website.

"You always play the game to win, and being part of some great winning moments with Celtic has been really big for me, a real honour.

"I have had a great welcome and support from the Celtic fans ever since I came here.

"We all know the love and passion our fans have for the club, there is nothing better than playing at a packed Celtic Park and I am delighted to be playing my football here.

"I have really enjoyed working with the manager, the staff and great team-mates and we will all be doing everything we can to bring our fans more and more success over the next few years."

Manager Brendan Rodgers added: "This is great news for us all that Cameron has extended his contract with the club.

"He has been an absolute rock for us since he joined the club and has played to such a high standard so regularly, week in, week out.

"He has been such a pillar of strength in our defence and a real leader in the team – I know he is held in such high regard, too, by his teammates.

'His qualities as a player, his personality and his absolute commitment to the game make him a real joy to work with.'

"I know Cam loves the club and the city and really has made Celtic his home and we are delighted to have him here with us.

"There has been a lot of talk about the interest in him from elsewhere, but all he has done is get on with his football, decide where he wants to be and we are delighted that he sees his future at Celtic."

Ashley Hunter leaves MK Dons by mutual consent

"MK Dons midfielder Ashley Hunter departs the club by mutual consent," read a statement.

"The 28-year-old attacking midfielder, who joined the club in the summer transfer window, made 8 appearances, most notably contributing two assists in the Dons' late turnaround against Colchester United in August.

"Everybody at MK Dons would like to wish Ash all the very best for the future."

Bristol Rovers bring in Kamil Conteh from Grimsby

"I'm delighted to be here, and am looking forward to cracking on and getting playing. In terms of the size of the club, where they are in the table, and the manager's plans for me, I just really wanted to be a part of it," he told the club website.

Manager Matt Taylor added: "I'm really pleased. It's been in the pipeline now for a little while, so I'm so pleased to get it over the line, and get to get him down here and have him available for Saturday's game. He's a player we've admired for a period of time now.

"I think he adds something to our midfield. Obviously on the back of Grant Ward's injury, and the loan lads going back to their parent clubs, we've been a little bit light in that department. So, it's important we have him here and that we keep adding to it."

St Mirren sign Jaden Brown on loan from Lincoln City

"I'm buzzing. I've heard a lot of good things about the team, the manager and the town in general so I'm happy to be here," he told the club website.

I spoke to Ethan [Erhahon] and spoke to some other players as well. Ethan told me a lot about the players and the town so I felt really comfortable being here.

"I'm looking forward to it. It's a league I haven't played in before and every game will be a different experience."

Manager Stephen Robinson added: "He's a player that I've watched before and had an eye on going back to when he was at Huddersfield.

He's got a really good pedigree. It's important that we have cover and competition. He's not coming to make up numbers.

"He's coming to be competitive and keep pushing Scott Tanser on who has arguably been player of the season so far."

"With Thierry Small being recalled it's really important that we have another option in that position. Jaden can also play higher up the pitch if need be and it gives us a more balanced squad."

Burton Albion sign Jonathan Leko on loan from MK Dons

"I'm really happy to be joining on loan. I've been aware of the interest for a few weeks, so I'm glad it's done and I'm excited to get started," he told the club website.

"I spoke to the gaffer last week and he has played an important part in me joining. I've spoken to Raks, Deji and Sedds as well and they all have great things to say about the club.

"I'm looking forward to playing back in League One and my main aim is to play regular games, get goals and get assists for this club."

Manager Martin Paterson added: "He's someone that has played at very high levels. He comes here with a point to prove and we want to give him the platform to showcase his abilities – he's fully aware of the team's identities and what is required from a player that plays for Burton Albion Football Club."

    Brentford sign goalkeeper Hakon Valdimarsson

"I'm very, very happy that we've managed to sign Hakon; there was competition from a lot of other clubs, including some in the Premier League. We are growing as a club, and we have proven that we make players better," said manager Thomas Frank.

"Hakon is an exciting keeper. He is good at dominating his box, claiming crosses from set-pieces and in open play. His distribution is also at a high level. He fits the way we want to play, which is very important.

"Hakon is coming in to strengthen our goalkeeper group and to compete. We are very happy with Mark Flekken - he has settled into the club, the group and the team and we know that there is even more to come from him.

"We are also very satisfied with Thomas Strakosha, who has shown his quality this season and played some important minutes.

"Now we have a younger keeper with big potential coming in to push Mark and Thomas, along with Ellery Balcombe and Matt Cox."

Rangers announce Mohamed Diomande signing from Nordsjaelland

Rangers have announced the signing of midfielder Mohamed Diomande from Danish club Nordsjaelland, subject to international clearance.

The 22-year-old joins the Gers on an initial loan deal until the end of the season, with an obligation to buy in the summer for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £4.3m.

Diomande, who will wear the No.42 shirt, has agreed a long-term contract that runs until 2028 and he will arrive in Glasgow as soon as he receives his work permit.

The Ivorian becomes Philippe Clement's second signing of the January transfer window after Fabio Silva, who has joined on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe admits Joelinton could be sold this summer

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has admitted that Joelinton may have played his last game for the club and could be sold in the summer.

The 27-year-old has been ruled out until May after undergoing surgery on a thigh injury picked up in a FA Cup win against rival Sunderland earlier this month.

Joelinton is due to see his current contract at St James' Park expire in June 2025, and talks are underway over an possible extension, but Newcastle are allegedly unwilling to meet the player's wage demands.

Magpies CEO Darren Eales recently revealed that the club may be forced to sell star players as they are under pressure to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations and the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Ten Hag rules out Man United signing a striker in January

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has revealed that his club will not be signing a new striker before the January transfer window closes for business.

The Red Devils have been without Anthony Martial since the start of December and will be missing him for another 10 weeks at least, with the forward undergoing a groin operation earlier this week.

As a result, Rasmus Hojlund, 20, is the only senior striker available for selection, and the Denmark international has managed just two Premier League goals during the 2023-24 campaign.

The 20-time English champions have been linked with a loan move for Al-Ittihad's Karim Benzema, while Bayern Munich's Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Ajax's Brian Brobbey have also been mentioned as possible targets.

Howe discusses Trippier, Wilson, Almiron transfer speculation

Eddie Howe has insisted that Newcastle United are keen to keep hold of Kieran Trippier, Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson amid reported interest in the trio during the January transfer window.

The Magpies are having to work within the constraints of Financial Fair Play (FFP) which is restricting the club's activity in the transfer market.

Newcastle CEO Darren Eales admitted earlier this month that the club may be required to sell some of their star players if they wish to balance their books and avoid breaking financial rules.

A host of Howe's senior stars have since been linked with a possible exit from St James' Park including first-choice right-back Trippier, who has attracted interest from Bayern Munich.

Barcelona open to selling Man United-linked Jules Kounde?

Barcelona are reportedly open to selling Jules Kounde during this summer's transfer window, with Manchester United believed to be keeping a close eye on the situation.

The 25-year-old completed a move to Camp Nou from Sevilla in the summer of 2022, and he has represented his current side on 66 occasions, scoring three goals and registering nine assists in the process.

Kounde has again been an important player this season, making 26 appearances, scoring twice and registering three assists, but there has been criticism of his form.

According to Sport, there is 'enormous concern' from senior figures at Barcelona when it comes to the centre-back's current run of form.

Transfer rumours: West Ham end striker hunt, Dubravka Newcastle doubts, Fulham end Cordoba bid

West Ham United are reportedly unlikely to push to sign for a new striker before the end of the January transfer window.

The Hammers have enjoyed a solid campaign thus far, currently sitting in sixth position in the Premier League table and having reached the last 16 of the Europa League.

However, with Michail Antonio having been absent with a knee injury and Danny Ings having generally not made an impact in his place, Jarrod Bowen has been used down the centre of the attack.

As a result, a wide array of names have been linked with a switch to the London Stadium, including Chelsea's Armando Broja and Aston Villa's Jhon Duran.

Karim Benzema's brother dismisses Real Madrid speculation

Karim Benzema's brother has dismissed suggestions that the Al-Ittihad forward could return to Real Madrid on loan before the end of the January transfer window.

There is currently a host of speculation surrounding Benzema's future, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all credited with an interest in him.

The 36-year-old left Real Madrid last summer to make the move to Al-Ittihad, but he is believed to be unsettled at the Saudi Arabian club and is keen on a return to Europe for the second half of the 2023-24 campaign.

According to Sport, Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti has asked club president Florentino Perez to bring the experienced striker back to Bernabeu this month.

Wolves confirm Jonny exit by mutual consent

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that they have mutually agreed to end the contract of Jonny.

At the back end of 2023, it was revealed that the defender had been involved in a training ground incident, it widely reported to have involved Jonny swinging an elbow at one of the club's younger players.

That resulted in the Spain international being banished from the first-team squad, Wolves later confirming that he would not be considered for a return until after the end of the January transfer window should he remain at Molineux.

However, the preference for all concerned was to find a new club for a player that had not made a single senior appearance since a brief substitute outing against Manchester City on September 30.

Sheffield United sign Ivo Grbic from Atletico Madrid

"My first impressions of the club are very good. Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome I have received, I am really happy to be here. It is a big thing for every player to move to the Premier League and I am delighted to join Sheffield United," he told the club website.

"This is the best challenge for me. I'm sure it will be an amazing experience and it will be fun to play in front of our fans and I want to be involved as soon as possible.

"I've played in some good leagues in France and Spain, and played in the Champions League with Lille and played 15 or 16 games for Atletico last season which is a big club. I know I am ready now for this challenge."

Manager Chris Wilder added: "There has been an enthusiasm to tie down a goalkeeper to a long-term deal. We have done our homework on Ivo and we believe he can be an important member of our squad. We are looking forward to working with him."

Jonny leaves Wolves by mutual consent

"Jonny hasn't played a lot of football over the last couple of years, so he wants to go and play and we're happy to give him that chance. He's been a great servant to us, so we tried to make this happen for him as quickly as possible," said sporting director Matt Hobbs.

"Doc is the last one left from the starting Europa League group, and he came back, so Jonny leaving is another one gone from that era, from a group of players that will always be welcomed back to the club, for what they did for the club and Jonny will be held in the same regard.

"In the modern era, he was part of the most successful team we've had, so the only way Jonny should be remembered is for being an important part of it. Every team needs players where the manager knows exactly what he's going to get. He raised one child here and had another here and loved the city. When you come to putting a team together, that's really important."

Tom Fellows signs new West Brom contract

"I'm really happy to sign a new contract. I feel this is the right place for me to develop and keep improving as a player," he told the club website.

"For me, the big thing is having the opportunities to play and to keep doing well.

"I feel like I can keep getting minutes here and for someone my age, I think the only way you get better is by playing games and being around the senior environment. Hopefully I can keep doing that.

"I got opinions from my family, my mom and my dad, on what they thought was best and our ideas were all very similar. It was an easy decision for me to make in the end.

"Carlos Corberan played a big part too because I know he believes in me. He's shown that by playing me in games and starting me in others. It's so important to have a manager that believes in you."

"It's down to me now to keep working hard."

Carlos Corberan added: "I am very pleased that one of our players, who has been here since he was a boy, will be with us as a man.

"Tom has showed that he has the level required to perform in our first team and this contract is a reward for the hard work he has put in.

"Tom is an example to our academy players. His progress shows the pathway that exists at this club for our young players to make their way to the first-team squad and stay there.

"We will keep working with him to ensure he fulfils his full potential. He has a bright future and I am delighted that will be here with us."
