Sports Mole previews Sunday's Ligue 1 clash between Brest and Paris Saint-Germain, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain will attempt to claim their fourth consecutive victory in all competitions when they travel to the Stade Francis-Le Ble to face Brest on Sunday.

While the hosts may be underdogs, they are currently sitting in fifth position, leaving them just three points behind third-placed PSG.

Match preview

After finishing in the bottom half of the Ligue 1 table in each of their last five seasons, Brest are currently in unfamiliar surroundings, sitting in a European place with 15 points to their name after nine matches.

While Brest have exceeded expectations, their momentum has shown signs of slowing in recent weeks, having picked up just two points from their last three games.

After being involved in a goalless affair with Nice, Les Pirates played out a 1-1 draw with Toulouse, before they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Lille last weekend after Yusuf Yazici's sixth-minute strike proved to be decisive.

As a result of their second defeat of the season, Brest saw their five-game unbeaten run come to an end, while they also failed to find the net for the third time in four away league matches.

Eric Roy's charges will be pleased to return to the Stade Francis-Le Ble, where they will look to maintain their unbeaten record as one of four Ligue 1 teams yet to lose a home league game this season.

Luis Enrique's PSG tenure began in underwhelming fashion, with less than half of his opening nine competitive matches producing a victory (W4, D3, L2).

Questions were certainly being asked after PSG followed a goalless draw against Clermont with a disappointing 4-1 defeat in their Champions League away clash with Newcastle United.

However, recent signs suggest that Enrique is finally getting his message across to his players, having embarked on a three-game winning run, racking up three goals in each of those victories.

After cruising to league victories over Rennes and Strasbourg, PSG produced another dominant display in Wednesday's Champions League home meeting with AC Milan after Kylian Mbappe, Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in all found the net to clinch a 3-0 win, representing a fourth consecutive home win without conceding.

PSG, who are four points adrift of Ligue 1 leaders Nice, will head on their travels for Sunday's contest, where they will look to extend their unbeaten away run to 12 matches, with their most recent away league defeat taking place against Monaco in February.

Team News

After being suspended for the defeat to Lille, Brest midfielder Mehdi Camara is set to return to the starting XI, which could result in Jonas Martin dropping down to the bench.

Lillian Brassier is also back from suspension, and the 23-year-old is expected to replace Achraf Dari and line up in central defence alongside Brendan Chardonnet.

Inter Milan loanee Martin Satriano, who is set to lead the line for the hosts, has only scored one goal in his nine league appearances, but that strike did arrive in Brest's most recent home game against Toulouse.

PSG defender Nuno Mendes and attacker Marco Asensio are ruled out due to hamstring and foot injuries respectively, while goalkeeper Keylor Navas is unlikely to feature in the matchday squad after missing the win over AC Milan.

Lee dropped out of the lineup for the midweek Champions League clash, but after coming off the bench to score PSG's third goal, the South Korea international could return to the starting lineup for Sunday's contest.

Kolo Muani, who replaced Goncalo Ramos in the starting XI on Wednesday, is set to retain his place in the side following his first Champions League goal for the Parisians.

Brest possible starting lineup:
Bizot; Lala, Chardonnet, Brassier, Locko; Magnetti, Lees-Melou; Del Castillo, Camara, Le Douaron; Satriano

Paris Saint-Germain possible starting lineup:
Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Skriniar, Hernandez; Zaire-Emery, Ugarte, Vitinha; Lee, Mbappe, Kolo Muani

We say: Brest 1-3 Paris Saint-Germain

Brest have made the Stade Francis-Le Ble a fortress this season, but their unbeaten home record will certainly come under threat when the champions visit on Sunday.

Impressively, PSG have won each of their last 13 competitive meetings with Brest, and we think that they will prove too strong once again to claim maximum points.
