Brentford forward Yoane Wissa surpassed his personal record for the most goals that he has scored in a single Premier League season in Wednesday's 1-1 home draw against Everton.
Wissa's previous best-scoring Premier League season took place last term when he scored 12 goals in 34 Premier League appearances.
The forward recently equalled that record in Friday's trip to the King Power Stadium, scoring the opener in a dominant 4-0 win over relegation-threatened Leicester City.
With three months of the season left to play, Wissa knew that it would only be a matter of time until he surpassed his 12-goal tally from last term.
Wissa breaks personal Premier League record
As it proved, Wissa only had to wait until the next match, as he found the net in Wednesday's draw with Everton to make the 2024-25 season his best goalscoring campaign in the Premier League.
The DR Congo international nodded the ball home from close range after Bryan Mbeumo thumped a header against the woodwork from Kevin Schade's long throw, bringing up his 13th goal in his 24th top-flight appearance of the season.
Unfortunately for Wissa, his personal achievement was not enough to secure all three points at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Everton's Jake O'Brien levelled the scoreline in the 77th minute to deny Brentford a third consecutive victory and extend their winless home run to six Premier League games.
Brentford's dangerous duo
It was perhaps apt that Mbeumo played some part in Wissa's opener given the fact that the pair have contributed greatly to Brentford's 48-goal Premier League tally.
While Wissa has contributed 13 goals, Mbeumo is Brentford's current top scorer with 15 strikes to his name, meaning that the pair have scored 58% of Brentford's Premier League goals between them this term.
In regards to the Premier League's individual scoring charts, Mbeumo is sitting in fifth position and a couple of places above Wissa, who shares seventh spot with Wolverhampton Wanderers' Matheus Cunha.
Brentford will now have a short break due to the FA Cup before the return to action with a home encounter with Aston Villa on March 8. body check tags ::
