Tite: 'Neymar ready to face Switzerland'

Brazil boss Tite says that Neymar is ready to make an impact against Switzerland on Sunday despite not being 100% fit.

Brazil boss Tite has insisted that Neymar is ready to make an impact against Switzerland on Sunday despite not being 100% fit as he continues to recover from a foot problem.

The Selecao will open their 2018 World Cup with a Group E clash against Switzerland on Sunday night.

Neymar has only just returned to action following the fractured metatarsal that he suffered while representing Paris Saint-Germain back in February.

The 26-year-old scored in both of Brazil's pre-tournament friendlies, however, and Tite has tipped his star man to "play very well" against Switzerland despite his recent problems.

"Neymar is not 100% yet," Tite told reporters at a press conference. "But he is very privileged physically, his sprinting capacity and his speed is really impressive, he hasn't lost that. He's not 100% yet. But he's good enough to play very well."

Neymar scored his 55th Brazil goal in the South American nation's 3-0 win over Austria on June 10.
