Nacer Chadli: 'Belgium have nothing to fear'

Belgium midfielder Nacer Chadli insists that his side have gained a lot of confidence from their World Cup quarter-final victory over Brazil.

Belgium midfielder Nacer Chadli has insisted that his side will have nothing to fear when they go into their World Cup semi-final against France on Tuesday.

Roberto Martinez's side have won every game at this summer's World Cup so far, including an impressive 2-1 triumph over pre-tournament favourites Brazil in the quarter-finals.

Chadli believes that that triumph will have extinguished any nerves ahead of arguably the biggest game in Belgian football history as they bid to reach the World Cup final for the first time.

"If you can beat Brazil, you do not have to fear anyone. We respect everybody but if we play with fear we will not be able to beat France," he told reporters.

"For us, it was a big step to win against Brazil - also for our confidence and to show everybody that we could do it. Belgium is a small country, we have 11 million people. We are very proud of what we can achieve and what we can do as a group."

Belgium have only made the World Cup semi-finals on one previous occasion, in 1986.
