Everton have completed the signing of defender Yerry Mina from Barcelona in a deal worth more than £27m.

New Toffees boss Marco Silva had made bringing in defensive reinforcements one of his priorities during the closing stages of the transfer window, and his side completed a deal for Mina just before the 5pm deadline.

The Colombia international moves to Goodison Park in a deal worth €30.25m (£27.2m), with a further €1.5m (£1.3m) in performance-related bonuses.

Mina was also reportedly wanted by Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer following a string of impressive performances at the World Cup, but Everton have won the race for his signature.

The deal includes a buy-back clause for Barcelona, with Mina having featured just six times for the club across all competitions following his January arrival from Palmeiras.

Mina is one of three signings made by Everton in the final hour of deadline day, with Andre Gomes also joining from Barcelona and Bernard putting pen to paper on a four-year contract.
