Adama Traore has said that he is "happy to be back home", with the attacker re-joining Barcelona on loan for the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign.

The Spain international will finish the season at Camp Nou, having been allowed to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers during the January transfer window.

Barcelona are intending to sign the 26-year-old on a permanent deal this summer, and Traore has revealed his delight at securing a return to the Catalan giants, having previously been at the club between 2004 and 2015.

"I have been away for seven years, I will do all I can to make the Barcelona fans happy with me. I am happy to be back home and I hope to demonstrate my talents on Sunday," Traore told reporters.

"I have changed physically, I have gained experience but I have never lost that Barcelona essence. If the Adama today is the same as yesterday, that is a lost day. Getting better every day is really important to me.

"Sometimes you have to take a different path to reach the first team. I am really happy, excited and ready to help the in every way. Going back to the Camp Nou will be very special. I am coming back home."

Traore, who will wear the number 11 shirt for Xavi's side, could make his second debut for the club in Sunday's La Liga contest with Atletico Madrid. body check tags ::
