Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Barcelona on Thursday, July 9.

The buildup to the summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Barcelona eye possible reinforcements.

The Spanish champions spent big on Antoine Griezmann during the summer but missed out on a big-name striker in January, leading to speculation that they could splash the cash again when the window reopens.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news from the Camp Nou.

Thursday morning's Barcelona transfer talk news roundup:

Barcelona 'give Antoine Griezmann assurances over future'

Antoine Griezmann has reportedly been assured by Barcelona that he is still a key part of the club's long-term plans.

The France international has endured a tough first campaign at Camp Nou after joining from Atletico Madrid in a €120m (£107m) deal last summer.

Griezmann has struggled to break into the side of late, although he did score an impressive goal during a rare start against Villarreal on Sunday.

A number of teams have been tipped to move for the 29-year-old, including the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City, but L'Equipe reports that he will stay put in Catalonia.

Barca chiefs are said to have held a meeting with Griezmann on Tuesday and told the player that they are counting on him to step up next season, with an exit not a possibility.

Griezmann has scored 15 goals in 43 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions.

Josep Maria Bartomeu concedes Neymar move "unlikely" for Barcelona

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has conceded that it is "unlikely" the club will move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar this summer.

The Brazilian forward has been linked with a return to Camp Nou, three years on from joining PSG for a record fee of £198m.

Neymar won eight major trophies during a four-season stay at Barca and is rumoured to have come close to moving back to Catalonia last year.

However, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to financially cripple clubs, Bartomeu admits that it would be tough to pull off a transfer in the current climate.

"Such an operation is unlikely because the situation of all the clubs in Europe is very difficult," Bartomeu told RAC1.

Neymar has scored 69 goals in 80 appearances for PSG since joining in August 2017.
