Henrikh Mkhitaryan 'willing to slash wages to stay at Roma'

:Headline: Henrikh Mkhitaryan 'willing to slash wages to stay at Roma':
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is reportedly willing to see his wages slashed if it means he is able to stay at Roma on loan for next season.

Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is reportedly prepared to take a wage cut in order to stay at Roma for another year.

The Armenia international joined the Italian side on loan from the Gunners last summer and chalked up six goals and three assists in 13 Serie A appearances prior to the coronavirus postponement.

Mkihtaryan joined Arsenal from Manchester United in a swap deal that saw Alexis Sanchez head in the opposite direction, but the 31-year-old has failed to produce consistently at the Emirates Stadium.

According to The Sun, Mkhitaryan's agent Mino Raiola has hinted that his client is willing to see his £180,000-a-week wages at Arsenal slashed if it means he could continue his loan spell at Roma next season.

The report also claims that Mikel Arteta's side are looking for a fee in the region of £22m should Roma wish to sign him permanently, although the Italian outfit are allegedly reluctant to spend more than £14m on the midfielder.

Mkhitaryan's current deal at Arsenal will expire in June. body check tags ::
