Manchester City, Arsenal target Thomas Partey hints at Atletico Madrid stay

By , European Football Editor | 4d
Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey plays down suggestions that he could leave the Wanda Metropolitano this summer.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has seemingly denied that he could leave the Wanda Metropolitano this summer amid reported interest from the Premier League.

Manchester City have been strongly linked with a move for the midfielder, while Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old.

Thomas, however, has said that he is 'sure he will stay at Atletico' heading into the 2019-2020 campaign.

"I've grown up in Atleti and I am sure I will stay here," Thomas told Cadena COPE. "I don't know of another place that will understand how I play like they do here."

Thomas has been with Atletico since 2012, representing the club's B team between 2013 and 2015 before stepping into the senior side.

The Ghana international - who reportedly has a £43m release clause in his contract - has made 134 appearances for the Madrid giants in all competitions, scoring 12 times and providing 10 assists.
