Manchester City 'eye Thomas Partey swoop'

Manchester City consider a summer swoop for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, according to a report.
By , European Football Editor | 6d

Manchester City are reportedly considering a summer swoop for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.

Thomas has been with Atletico since 2012, representing the club's B team between 2013 and 2015 before stepping into the senior side.

The Ghana international has since made over 130 appearances for the capital giants, including 34 in all competitions during the 2018-19 campaign.

According to Ghanasoccernet, City boss Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of Thomas, viewing the 6ft 1in ace as a possible medium-term replacement for Fernandinho.

The 25-year-old, who has contributed two goals and three assists in 24 La Liga appearances this term, has a contract at the Wanda Metropolitano until the summer of 2023.
