Arsenal 'want Yacine Brahimi as Danny Welbeck replacement'

A report claims that Porto's Yacine Brahimi, who will become a free agent in the summer, is wanted by Arsenal boss Unai Emery to bolster his attacking options.

Arsenal reportedly want to bring in Yacine Brahimi as a replacement for Danny Welbeck and they are at the front of the queue to sign the Porto attacker.

Welbeck is to bow out of the Emirates Stadium as a free agent in the summer after five years at the club as he has not been offered a new contract.

The search for a new pacy wideman is underway and, according to A Bola, Brahimi ticks all the boxes for Gunners boss Unai Emery.

Arsenal are believed to have just £40m to spend in the summer, meaning that free agent Brahimi would be an ideal signing for Emery ahead of his second season in North London.

The Alegria international has scored seven goals in 20 Primeira Liga matches this term and he played a direct part in 16 goals last season as Porto finished top of the table.

AC Milan and Watford have also been tipped to make a move for the 28-year-old when his contract expires in June.
