Arsenal 'tempted to rival Tottenham Hotspur for Andre Gomes'

Everton loanee Andre Gomes is attracting interest from North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report.

Arsenal are reportedly weighing up an offer for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes, who has impressed during his season on loan in the Premier League with Everton.

The 25-year-old's performances have already earned him links with a £30m end-of-season move to Tottenham Hotspur.

ESPN claims that the Gunners are tempted to join North London rivals Tottenham in the hunt to sign Gomes.

Arsenal are said to be monitoring the 29-cap Portugal international, though no contact has yet been made with parent club Barcelona, where he has no future.

Everton are also interested in turning Gomes's loan move into a permanent deal when the campaign ends, having used him heavily since the start of November.
