Arsenal boss Unai Emery impressed with Emile Smith Rowe's mentality

Arsenal boss Unai Emery reveals that he has been left impressed by the mentality of Emile Smith Rowe after the 18-year-old netted against Qarabag FK in the Europa League.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has heaped praise on Emile Smith Rowe after the 18-year-old netted his first senior goal in the Europa League fixture against Qarabag FK.

Smith Rowe had been handed just his second competitive start in a Gunners shirt, and the playmaker got on the scoresheet as the North London outfit registered a 3-0 victory in Baku.

However, Emery has revealed that he has been left most impressed by the mentality of the youngster who continues to make an impact in the first-team squad.

The Spaniard is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "He knows how we want to play and he is very humble to continue improving and progressing with us and in every training and match, like today.

"If I can say one condition [that stands out], for me, it's his mentality. He is humble and he is humble to listen every day in training.

"I think it's best for him to continue to be humble and continue working in every match to keep his feet on the ground."

The positive result for Arsenal has kept the club at the top of Group E with Sporting Lisbon.
