Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has reportedly joined the cast for the next Spider-Man movie.
The 22-year-old is best known for playing Max in the hit Netflix series and also appeared in the three-time Oscar winning movie The Whale.
The fourth Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland in the title role - a follow up to 2021's acclaimed Spider-Man: No Way Home - is due for release on July 31, 2026, with filming expected to start late this spring.
Holland is the only cast member confirmed so far, with Zendaya's potential return as MJ still unknown, but according to Deadline, Sink is now on board in a major but mystery role.
Fans have speculated that she could play Gwen Stacy, Jean Grey, Felicia Hardy or Angelica Jones, while The Hot Mic suggests that she will star as a second version of MJ.
Such news could suggest that, given the events of the third film, she is a variant of Zendaya's character from another universe - implying that other regular figures from the first three movies may have reduced roles in the next instalment.
Neither Marvel or Sink has yet to comment on the story.
