Just like their North London rivals Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur dipped into their war chest during the summer transfer window, with Nuno Espirito Santo and Fabio Paratici seeking to mould the squad into their own vision.

The arrival of Paratici unsurprisingly led to a double Serie A swoop for Atalanta BC duo Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero, but Takehiro Tomiyasu instead penned a deal with Arsenal from Bologna.

However, Tomiyasu's Emirates switch saw Spurs strike a deal for Barcelona full-back Emerson Royal, while a second La Liga arrival in Bryan Gil adds youth and energy to Spurs' attacking ranks.

Metz starlet Pape Sarr will link up with the squad in 2022 as he spends one more year back on loan with Les Grenats, but arguably the most crucial piece of business from Tottenham was keeping Harry Kane on the books - for another season at least.

Following the completion of the summer transfer window, Sports Mole looks at Spurs' strongest XI with their new arrivals in tow.

Gollini will certainly have to wait patiently for his opportunity in between the sticks, with World Cup-winning captain Hugo Lloris still in control of the gloves for now, although the 34-year-old's deal will expire in 2022.

The departures of Juan Foyth and Serge Aurier seemingly opened up a chance for Matt Doherty to resume his fruitful relationship with Santo, but having shone for two and a half years at Real Betis, Emerson will likely come straight into the Spurs XI.

Eric Dier's performances in the month of August saw him nominated for the Premier League's player of the month, but when both men are fit and firing on all cylinders, Davinson Sanchez and Cristian Romero should form the first-choice centre-back pairing.

Sergio Reguilon's spot at left-back is always safe as Ben Davies makes do with substitute appearances, while Tanguy Ndombele did not secure a move away from Tottenham in the summer despite being frozen out of the team under Santo.

In the Frenchman's absence, Santo has been quick to hand opportunities to 20-year-old Oliver Skipp, who forms part of the strongest XI alongside ever-present lynchpin Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Bryan Gil has not been given many opportunities to showcase his talent just yet and just loses out to the more experienced Lucas Moura on the right, with Steven Bergwijn yet to find his best form at the club.

Dele Alli is relishing his new-found freedom under Santo and is in the process of reigniting his Tottenham career, while Son Heung-min has already demonstrated his importance to the side with two match-winners against Manchester City and Watford.

The unwavering approach of Daniel Levy saw Tottenham retain the services of Harry Kane for the time being, with the England skipper now aiming to build on the 37 goal contributions he amassed from 35 Premier League games last term.
