Blackburn Rovers close to loan deal for Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed?

Blackburn Rovers are reportedly close to securing the loan signing of Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed.

Blackburn Rovers have reportedly identified Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed as a potential loan signing.

Rovers boss Tony Mowbray is keen to make additions before the end of the month, despite the newly-promoted Championship side making a bright start to the campaign.

The North-West outfit are allegedly keen on Jack Rodwell, but according to Sky Sports News, fellow midfielder Reed is also close to arriving at Ewood Park.

Reed still has three years remaining on his contract at St Mary's, but the 23-year-old is unlikely to gain much first-team action at Southampton this season.

The academy graduate spent the last campaign at Norwich City, with 39 appearances being made in the second tier.
