Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to offer James Rodriguez in part-exchange for Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

During and after the summer transfer window, Ruiz has been linked with a switch to one of European football's top clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.

Napoli have allegedly responded by placing an €80m (£70.94m) price tag on the Spaniard in an attempt to fend off interest in his signature.

According to reports in Spain, Real have indicated that they would be prepared to include Rodriguez in any deal if it aided their chances of securing the signature of Ruiz.

Since returning to the Bernabeu after a two-year loan spell at Bayern Munich, Rodriguez has been handed regular game time by boss Zinedine Zidane.

However, with less than two years left on his contract, club officials may prefer to cash in on the Colombia international.
