Real Madrid to stick with Santiago Solari despite poor form?

By , Football League Correspondent | 5d
Recently-appointed Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari will stay on at the Bernabeu until at least the end of the season, according to a report.

Real Madrid reportedly intend to stick with manager Santiago Solari until at least the end of the season, despite their poor run of form.

Los Blancos were beaten 2-0 by Real Sociedad at the Bernabeu last weekend and have also been humbled by Eibar and CSKA Moscow on Solari's watch.

The European champions turned to the 42-year-old in October, initially on a caretaker basis, following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui.

Solari was then handed a two-and-a-half-year deal to take charge full time, but recent results - leaving Madrid fifth in La Liga and 10 points adrift of leaders Barcelona - has led to talk of a new manager being lined up.

Jose Mourinho is a potential option for Los Blancos after departing Manchester United last month, but a report carried by The Mirror suggests that Solari will stay on for the next six months, unless the campaign turns into a "bloodbath".

Madrid return to action on Wednesday night with a Copa del Rey last-16 first-leg clash against Leganes.
