How Real Madrid could line up against Getafe

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Saturday afternoon's La Liga clash with Getafe.

Real Madrid will open their 2020 with a trip to capital rivals Getafe on Saturday afternoon.

Los Blancos ended 2019 with three straight draws in La Liga, but Zinedine Zidane's side are very much in the title argument at this stage as they sit just two points off leaders Barcelona.

Madrid are also unbeaten in their last 11 league matches with Getafe, but the home side have lost just one of their last nine games in all competitions during an excellent run of form.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the visitors could line up at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Out: Sergio Ramos (ban), Eden Hazard (ankle), Marco Asensio (knee)
Doubtful: Marcelo (calf), James Rodriguez (knee), Lucas Vazquez (toe)

Madrid will again be without the services of Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard through knee and ankle injuries respectively, while club captain Sergio Ramos will miss out through suspension.

Marcelo, James Rodriguez and Lucas Vazquez all trained with Los Blancos on Wednesday after recovering from recent injuries, although it would be a surprise if any of the three started this weekend due to their recent issues.

Casemiro is also available having served a one-game ban against Athletic Bilbao, and the Brazilian is expected to return to the middle of the park at the expense of Luka Modric.

Zidane has decisions to make in the final third when it comes to who plays alongside Karim Benzema; it seems likely that Isco will get the nod, while Rodrygo Goes is the favourite to start on the right ahead of both Gareth Bale and Vinicius Junior.

Nacho is expected to return to the heart of the defence at the expense of Eder Militao, while Federico Valverde should keep his spot in midfield having developed into an important player for the club.
