Nottingham Forest attacker Jesse Lingard is reportedly being pursued by clubs from Saudi Arabia and the MLS.

The 30-year-old joined Forest on a free transfer last summer following the expiry of his Manchester United contract.

Lingard has scored two goals and registered two assists in three EFL Cup appearances for the Reds, but he has struggled to make a significant impact in the Premier League.

In 16 league games for Forest, Lingard has failed to register a single goal or assist, and he has only played 63 minutes of top-flight football in 2023.

Lingard's has just over three months left to run on a one-year deal, which is believed to be worth around £200,000 a week.

Forest have decided against offering Lingard a new contract and as a result, he will be allowed to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.

According to Football Insider, Lingard's impending departure has alerted clubs in Saudi Arabia and the United States.

There is a belief that Saudi Arabian sides have the best chance of securing his services as they would not have an issue in meeting the player's high wage demands.

Although there is interest from the United States, no MLS franchise is willing to match Lingard's current lucrative contract.

The report also claims that any English side targeting the Manchester United academy graduate would also want to negotiate a deal lower than his current salary.

The former England international has spent the majority of his career at Man United, where he scored 35 goals and contributed 21 assists in 232 appearances.

Lingard has also spent time on loan at Leicester City, Birmingham City, Brighton & Hove Albion, Derby County and West Ham United, but he could now be set to move overseas for the first time in his career.

After coming off the bench at half time of Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, Lingard will hope to be included in the starting lineup when Forest play host to Newcastle United on Friday. body check tags ::
