Tyrell Malacia will reportedly complete his Manchester United medical on Monday, with the Netherlands international due to fly to Manchester on Sunday.

The 20-time English champions have reached an agreement with Feyenoord over the transfer of the left-back, while it is understood that personal terms have also now been thrashed out.

"The agreement is there. We are now waiting for Tyrell. If he says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent," Feyenoord director Frank Arnesen told 1908.nl last week.

Recent reports claimed that the deal had been held up due to a representation problem, with Malacia using an intermediary that had not been authorised to conduct the move.

However, the issue has allegedly now been addressed, and the 22-year-old is set to become Erik ten Hag's first signing as head coach of the Premier League giants.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Malacia will fly to Manchester on Sunday to undergo the first part of his medical tests and pen his contract with the Red Devils.

Romano claims that the second part of the medical will be completed on Monday, with the defender preparing to sign a deal at Old Trafford until 2026, with the option of a further 12 months.

Feyenoord will allegedly receive €15m (£12.9m) plus €2m (£1.7m) in add-ons for the Dutchman, who is likely to travel with Man United on their pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia.

Last season, the left-back made 50 appearances in all competitions for Feyenoord, contributing one goal and five assists.

Meanwhile, Malacia has scored four times and registered 10 assists in 136 appearances for his current side in all competitions, winning the KNVB Cup and Johan Cruyff Shield.

"The deal is done, and yesterday he spoke about his own terms," Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan told De Telegraaf when asked about the move. "They were not so complicated because he already knew what he could earn at Lyon. Manchester United only had to go a little bit over that.

"I think he's going to have a great time there because it's obvious he's a boy who is really made for English football with his dynamism, fierceness, and physical strength despite not being that tall. He really is a top boy.

"You all know that if Manchester United are in the market and you are a footballer, then yes, you go there and not Lyon."

Malacia could be followed to Old Trafford by Frenkie de Jong, with Man United believed to be in the final stages of negotiations with Barcelona over the Dutchman.

However, the 20-time English champions are seemingly facing a battle to keep hold of Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Portugal international allegedly telling the club that he wants to leave during this summer's transfer window. body check tags ::
