Declan Rice has said that West Ham United remains 'the best place for him' at this stage of his career.

Having established himself as one of the key players at the Hammers, Rice has been linked with a transfer to a bigger club, such as Manchester United.

However, while United are allegedly prepared to spend £70m on the England international, it appears that the versatile youngster intends to remain at the London Stadium.

The 20-year-old is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "I signed a five-year contract with West Ham last year, which will keep me at club till I'm 24, and for me this is the best place to be right now.

"I am playing for a manager who has given me my chance and played me week in week out. I'm improving every week and although I see all this speculation, I don't really think about it too much.

"It's all talk until something happens – and nothing has - so I'm just focused on West Ham, doing my best and making fans happy."

Rice has already amassed 78 appearances in the senior ranks at West Ham.
