Leeds United are reportedly preparing to offer Kalvin Phillips a new and improved contract at Elland Road amid suggestions that Manchester City are keen to sign the midfielder.

The 25-year-old excelled during his team's first season back in the Premier League and is also now an important member of Gareth Southgate's first-choice England XI.

A recent report claimed that Man City boss Pep Guardiola is keen to bring the midfielder to the Etihad Stadium during next summer's transfer window.

According to TEAMtalk, Leeds are preparing to make Phillips the highest-paid player at the club with a lucrative new contract amid the growing interest in his services.

The report claims that Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also monitoring the Englishman's situation at Elland Road.

Phillips, who has made 215 appearances for Leeds in all competitions, still has three years left to run on his current deal with Marcelo Bielsa's team. body check tags ::
