Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix has refused to comment on rumours linking him with a potential move to Manchester United.

The 23-year-old seemingly faces an uncertain future at the Wanda Metropolitano, with one report claiming that Atletico are prepared to sell the forward in January.

Felix joined Los Colchoneros from Benfica for a club-record £114m in the summer of 2019, and he has since contributed with 33 goals and 18 assists in 129 appearances across all competitions.

However, the Portugal international is yet to reach the heights expected following his big-money transfer and he has struggled for regular game time under Diego Simeone so far this season.

Indeed, Felix has started only nine of his 18 matches for Atletico across all competitions this term, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

A recent report claims that Felix is open to leaving Atletico and would be keen to join a Premier League club, amid interest from Man United.

The Red Devils allegedly saw a £110m bid for Felix rejected over the summer, but Erik ten Hag's side are believed to still hold an interest in the forward as they seek to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who had his contract terminated at the end of last month.

Felix is currently in Qatar representing Portugal at the 2022 World Cup and he insists that he is fully focused on their upcoming quarter-final clash against Morocco on Saturday.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Felix said: "I am focused on the World Cup. 100% on the World Cup and having a great World Cup.

"We are thinking of having a great tournament and on the Portuguese. I will talk about Atletico when the World Cup is over."

Felix is under contract at the Wanda Metropolitano until the summer of 2026, but Atletico Madrid CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin has suggested that the Viseu-born attacker may look to leave the club in the near future.

"[Joao Felix] is the biggest bet this club has taken in its history. I personally think he's a top talent, a world-class player," Gil Marin told TVE last month.

"For reasons it isn't worth getting into – the relationship between him and the boss (Simeone), the minutes played, his motivation right now – it makes you think that the reasonable thing is that if there's an option that's good for the player, good for the club, we can look at it.

"I'd love him to stay personally, but I don't think that's the player's idea."

Felix, who has recorded one goal and two assists in three appearances at the 2022 World Cup, had also been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa. body check tags ::
